🏢 Industry Visit at IFormatLogic IT Solutions

I. 📍 Event Details

Seminar Topic:
Industry Visit at IFormatLogic IT Solutions

Date: February 17, 2025
Venue: IFormatLogic IT Solutions
Audience: Team and Company Employees

🎯 Objective:
To gather background on how the company works and its relevance to the IT industry.

II. 📚 Reflections and Learnings

For our second industry exposure visit, we had the chance to visit IFormatLogic IT Solutions, and honestly, it was a very insightful and inspiring experience. We were welcomed by Ms. Diane Rose Dela Cruz, who introduced us to the background of the company, starting as a group of friends offering simple web services and growing into a formal company through hard work and consistency. This journey really caught my attention, as it shows how passion and collaboration can lead to something successful, even without huge initial funding.

She gave us a tour of their workplace, explaining how various departments function. I was especially interested in their Admin and HR department, which handles contracts, client documentation, and ensures proper communication with the development team. It made me realize how every department plays a vital role in making a project successful, not just the developers.

We were also introduced to Mr. Romano Ednalan, a senior full-stack developer, who shared valuable advice on how to grow in the IT field. He highlighted the importance of being open to new technologies, building real-world projects, and continuing to practice what we’ve learned. Mr. Romano emphasized that learning doesn’t stop after graduation, and adaptability is key in this fast-paced industry.

What I appreciated most was how open and willing everyone was to share their experiences. It made the whole visit more personal and encouraging. As someone preparing to graduate soon, hearing real stories from professionals gave me more confidence and motivation to keep pushing forward. Overall, it was a great learning opportunity and helped me see what kind of environment I might be part of in the future.

III. 🛠 Practical Applications of Learning

The visit to IFormatLogic IT Solutions gave us a clearer idea of how IT concepts are applied in real workplace settings, and I believe several things we learned can already be practiced as students:

  • Communication Between Departments: We learned the importance of communication, especially between Admin/HR and the development team. We can practice better documentation and clearer communication in our group work or capstone projects using tools like Trello or Google Docs to simulate that same workflow.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Mr. Romano’s advice to stay updated with new technologies and regularly work on small personal or team projects to improve our skills can help us prepare for the kind of mindset needed in the industry. Using GitHub for version control or joining online dev communities are simple yet effective habits to develop.
  • Professional Approach to Academic Tasks: The visit encouraged me to take every school project seriously, as if it were a real-world job. Applying structured practices to our academic tasks can help bridge the gap between being a student and becoming a professional.

IV. 🌟 Positive Feedback

While the event may not have been perfectly structured from start to finish, everything still went smoothly overall. The coordination between our team and the host company was clear, and both sides communicated well on how the visit would proceed. There were some minor gaps in planning, but they didn’t negatively affect the flow of the activity. In the end, we were able to gain valuable insights, engage meaningfully with the professionals we met, and have a productive experience. The cooperation between the organizers and the company made the visit worthwhile.

V. 💡 Suggestions for Improvement

For future activities, I suggest the following improvements:

  • Detailed Itinerary: A more detailed itinerary or schedule provided in advance would help both students and the hosting company be more aligned with the event flow. This could minimize downtime and make the most out of the limited time we have during visits.
  • Point Person or Coordinator: Assigning a point person or coordinator would help manage any unexpected changes on the spot.
  • More Interaction Time: Allowing more time for interaction or Q&A with professionals would make the experience even more engaging and informative for students.

✍️ Final Thoughts

The visit to IFormatLogic IT Solutions gave us valuable insights into how the IT industry operates, especially in a real-world setting. The advice and experiences shared by the professionals were motivating, and I’m excited to apply these lessons in my future career. I look forward to further opportunities that help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices.
